Burnout around the world

Burnout isn’t a typical Belgian disease. An article in The Huffington Post states countries like Germany, France, United Kingdom, Japan, China, South Korea and Latin America that have also ‘addressed the issue‘.

Are there other words for burnouts? Yes, get this. ‘Gwarosa‘ literally means ‘death from overwork’ in South Korea, ‘guolaosi‘ equally means death from overwork in China and the Japanese ‘have a word for burnout that leads to death’: ‘karoshi‘.

In an other article from the Huffington Post, I read the following:

In late 2012, the World Health Organization estimated that more than 350 million people worldwide suffer from depression”.

350 million people that need help or are struggling. And I worry there isn’t really a market for what I want to do!
